One's a Honda and the other a Ford, but that's not important.
Somewhere just inside the realm of possibility exists a General Motors owned fifty percent by the US government and forty percent by the UAW. The remaining ten percent split among who gives a shit? GM owned by the GMen and UAW! Unfreakingbelievable. North of them on I-75 Chrysler's zombie will be majority owned by the UAW and the rest of it owned by, again, does it really matter?
This pretty much eliminates two of the former Big Three as competitors to anyone. Loyal customers will reflexively buy their stuff for awhile, but neither of these companies will be around for another generation of buyers. The government and UAW would be wise to sell out as soon as possible accepting the losses as the best they'll ever get. Otherwise, two bureaucracies ill-suited to profitable behavior will oversee two corporate bureaucracies who can't remember having profitable behavior. Given that much bloat at the top, gravity will eventually take over...
